"This is the second ep of pastoral hauntings, and it is indeed a more disorienting, unnerving and eerie affair than the previous Orchadist EP - A Quiet Refuge, but refuge for who, or what remains a mystery that stalks the listener through the duration.

As the EP progresses, the feeling of claustrophobia dissipates, contemplative melodies surface and by the end, shafts of light are piercing the crowded canopies and filtering to the mulch and loam below.....

Listening to these engagingly creepy, scratchy spell-songs feels like walking in a forest late at night during the autumn under a full moon. Beneath this silvery glow the shadows seem to come alive, leaping and capering in time with the gusts of chill wind that send the dry leaves skittering and cackling. Your breath catches in your throat, your racing heartbeat thunders in your ears, and yet a tiny smile of impish delight also twitches at the edges of your lips. What a lovely Halloween treat!
